J. Walter Thompson London has appointed its managing partner Ros
King as its new managing director.
King will report to Simon Bolton, JWT London's newly arrived chief
Bolton commented: "Ros has been appointed for her client-facing skills
and her ability to drive standards. I've asked her to help me develop
this agency for the future."
She will be the agency's first female managing director. Bolton added:
"The agency has a lot of women in it - it's about time that someone
reached the higher echelons of management."
King has been cited as being responsible for growing the Boots business
from being the company's fifth-largest client to the second with
billings of pounds 30 million.
King, 41, has worked at JWT for the past four years and is currently
involved with the agency's launch of Lever Faberge's Persil Capsules
King was at Leo Burnett for ten years and spent two years at Ogilvy &
Mather in senior account handling positions.
