JWT deputy creative chiefs quit for task outside advertising

J. Walter Thompson's deputy creative directors, Gary Marshall and

Paul Marshall, have left the agency after 18 months to pursue interests

outside advertising.

Jaspar Shelbourne, the executive creative director of JWT, said the

agency would not be replacing them. He said: 'They were an excellent

creative team who came here with a significant management role.'

Gary said: 'We went to JWT to up the creative standards. But we were

aware that there had to be some people going at the agency.'

He added: 'As we're pursuing a venture that's completely out of

advertising, it seemed a fair thing to do'.

The brothers joined JWT from Lowe Howard-Spink in July 1999. They have

recently courted controversy with their Organics poster ad featuring a

woman looking down her bikini bottom.

They intend to continue freelancing in the advertising business.
