Excite’s UK sales director Khalil Ibrahimi is leaving the internet

portal after two years with the company.

Ibrahimi said he would initially take some time off, but added that he

planned to continue his sales career in the online sector. He was unable

to give details.

Before his stint at Excite, Ibrahimi was European sales manager at

TopJobs.net.

He joined Excite as UK sales manager and was promoted to the director

role in April last year.

During his time at Excite, he has helped to expand the sales team from

three to ten people and build revenue to ’seven figures plus per

month’.

Ibrahimi stressed that he would remain an employee of Excite until the

end of March. His replacement has not yet been announced.

Excite’s UK sales were handled by TSMSi until April 1998, when they were

taken inhouse. The move coincided with the arrival of Evan Rudowski as

the company’s director of European operations. Dela Quist, director of

European sales, heads the sales team.

ExciteUK is keen to raise its profile in an increasingly crowded market

and recently ran a TV campaign.
