The agency picked up the business after a pitch against Rapier and CMW. The process was led by Wieden & Kennedy, the tourist board's above-the-line agency, and Roger Pride, Visit Wales' marketing director.

Visit Wales called a review of its DM account last month after parting company with its incumbent agency, Partners Andrews Aldridge.

PAA had handled the DM business for almost six years, and created several award-winning campaigns, including 'Wetsuit', which picked up a Campaign Big Award in 2008.

Kitcatt Nohr will now work closely with W&K to produce a series of campaigns that aim to encourage holidaymakers to consider Wales as a viable holiday destination.

The tourist board is currently running a series of ads, starring the Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert, which focus on the wide variety of activities that Wales has to offer.
