Kite has been operating in a low-key fashion since the middle of 1997

while AMV headhunted the team to run the fledgling operation. An

expected launch towards the end of last year failed to materialise after

Steve Harrison, the former creative director of Ogilvy & Mather Direct,

declined an offer to take creative control.



Now the agency, which is likely to change its name, is set to launch

officially with pounds 4 million worth of billings, including direct

marketing assignments from Volvo, a long-time AMV client.



James Pool, a former board account director at Limbo, the Bartle Bogle

Hegarty direct marketing operation, who took over as Kite’s managing

director this week, will be joined by David Norbay, the founding partner

of Wells Nobay McDowall in Melbourne, as creative director. He was

previously at O&M Direct and Evans Hunt Scott and has had spells at

agencies in the US and Hong Kong.
