Kleinman and Ledwidge found production house

LONDON - The commercials directors Danny Kleinman and Ringan Ledwidge are joining forces to launch a new production company.

The as-yet-unnamed company will be run by Kleinman's long-time producer, Johnnie Frankel, and will operate from Kleinman Productions' existing offices in London. The move sees the closure of Ledwidge's production company Small Family Business.

Kleinman said: "To start with, the roster will be me and Ringan. The collaboration of two of the top commercials directors in the world is an exciting start to a venture that will have quality production values and humour as its main aims."

Ledwidge added: "As a company, it's something that makes so much sense: we both admire and respect each other's work and are constantly looking to improve as directors. Together, there's a belief we can inspire one another to higher levels, and have a laugh doing it."

Both directors have a host of award-winning commercials on their reels. Kleinman recently directed "noitulove" for Guinness and was behind the camera on the British Airways TV ad that breaks this weekend - the first work for the airline from its new agency, Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

Ledwidge is best-known for the Lynx "getting dressed" spot. Most recently, he has been directing his first feature film, Middle of Nowhere.

Kleinman and Frankel formed Kleinman Productions in September 2004.

Ledwidge formed Small Family Business with his producer, Sally Humphries, in September 2003. Humphries will continue to produce for Ledwidge in the new venture.

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off Campaign's relaunch than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
