David Ginola, Tottenham Hotspur’s French international footballer,

is to be the new TV face of L’Oreal.

The silken tresses of the hearthrob soccer star will replace those of

the Friends actress, Jennifer Aniston, in a national campaign set to

break next week through McCann-Erickson.

McCanns declined to comment on the Ginola signing, but it is believed

the agency is putting the final touches to a commercial promoting

L’Oreal’s Elvive range of haircare products, which was launched through

Aniston last year.

Its appearance marks the second major TV campaign for Ginola, who

appeared last year in a Publicis commercial for the Renault Laguna under

the theme, ’It’s all worked out beautifully for Ginola.’

Elvive was launched to compete with Procter & Gamble’s Pantene

Pro-V.
