It was announced in your pages recently that Leon Jaume is to join
Ogilvy and Mather to become the creative director on Ford (Campaign, 24
November). While the story naturally concentrated on Leon, little
mention was made of David Ryland and John Bayley, who have been
overseeing the creative work on the account for the past two years.
I would like to express my personal thanks to them both for all they’ve

for one of our most senior teams, I would like to assure all their
friends and colleagues that David and John are not about to be
transferred to O&M Siberia.
In fact, they are in New Orleans this week shooting a commercial for
Birds Eye, returning to shoot a new campaign for the Woolwich next week,
before they begin work on an ad for Argos the week after that. Those
were the ‘other assignments’ to which I was referring.
