Between the Lines: No fury like a WPP scorned

The day after his defection to the FCB network was announced, Steve Blamer - then Grey's North American chief - confessed to Campaign that he was surprised he hadn't yet been escorted out of the door with his belongings in a bin bag.

In fact, it was the calm before the storm; Blamer is now being sued by Grey for allegedly poaching two other senior managers and wrongfully exercising his stock options (page 3). A contract is a contract, of course. But you wonder if WPP's ruthless pursuit of its erstwhile employees is going to make top talent think twice about joining.
