Between the Lines: Renault keeps faith in Carat

Despite ongoing turmoil in France, a poor 2004 dragging down the UK and persistent speculation that its parent is up for sale, Carat managed to prove its critics wrong this week, clinging on to its £350 million pan-European media planning and buying task for Renault (page 1).

For all of the PR frenzy surrounding KR Media, the agency headed by the former chiefs of Aegis Europe, Eryck Rebbouh and Bruno Kemoun, retaining Renault proves that Carat and its Aegis parent still have the stature in the key French market to reassure one of the country's biggest advertisers.
