- Lockets, the UK medicated confectionery brand, today launches what it claims is a ground breaking website offering practical health tips and humour.
Created by web consultancy Lateral www.doubleaction.co.uk site launch is part of a £2.5 million marketing campaign for the brand this season.
Billed as a health education site with a difference, it has been designed to offer cold sufferers sound advice on symptomatic relief in a humorous environment.
The site is divided into two sections: the 'Cold Relief' section, which provides useful information on coughs and colds as well as tips on how to get better; and the 'Comic Relief' section, in which sufferers can perform their own health checks to find out how ill they really are. They can print out their own 'sick certificates' and send their friends and relatives a get well card.
Sue D'Arcy, Mars Confectionery's external relations manager, said: "Lockets is the first medicated confectionery brand to launch a health site which incorporates both serious and humorous elements. We understand that when you've got a cold you're either looking for sympathy or something to cheer you up. The website can do both these things as well as provide useful advice on getting rid of those unwanted cold symptoms."
