Lowe strengthens through merger in Spain

- Lowe & Partners Worldwide has formed a partnership with one of Barcelona's leading independent advertising agencies, FMRG, which will merge with Lowe's existing agency in the city, Lowe MBAC.

- Lowe & Partners Worldwide has formed a partnership with one of Barcelona's leading independent advertising agencies, FMRG, which will merge with Lowe's existing agency in the city, Lowe MBAC.

Lowe will retain a majority holding in the newly merged operation that is to be renamed Lowe FMRG.

The top slots in the new agency are taken by FMRG executives with co-founders Enrique Gonzalez named as president; Virgilio Ferrer as creative director; Jorge Fondon as general manager; and Gloria Ramon and Alfonso Martin as associate directors.

In addition, Lowe MBAC's president, Paco Montalvo, and general manager, Maisa Bater, will become vice chairman of the agency. Adolfo Castro, chief executive of Lowe & Partners Espana, will continue in his current role.

FMRG was founded n 1987 and its major clients include Antonio Puig (fragrances), Codorniu Group (wines) Cory Astor (cosmetics), DKV Previasa (canned food), while Lowe MBAC's major clients include Braun, Henkel and Nutrexpa and Dr Esteve (pharmaceuticals).
