Lund pledges focus on digital as COI chief

Mark Lund, the new chief executive of COI, has told Campaign that increasing its use of digital media will be a priority when he takes over in June.

Lund, the chief executive of Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners, replaces Alan Bishop, who resigned from COI in October to join the Southbank Centre as its chief executive.

Commenting on the challenges ahead, Lund said: "COI is clearly an organisation in positive momentum and I want to push that momentum further. I think the key within this is stimulating the whole area of digital engagement between government and citizen and, to do this, COI has to build on what it already does well in using digital channels imaginatively as a seamless part of the whole communications mix."

Lund, who is also the Advertising Association chairman, will face the task of introducing greater integration across media channels at COI, as it considers merging its existing three creative rosters into a single integrated roster.

His departure from DLKW will result in Tom Knox, the deputy chairman, and Richard Warren, the director of communications strategy, becoming joint chief executives. Greg Delaney will continue in his role as chairman.
