Michaelides & Bednash has been appointed to raise the profile of
Valuedirect.co.uk, a web company that offers more than 5,000 household
electrical appliances online.
It features special offers, product information, purchase and delivery,
links to manufacturers’ websites and the consumer watchdog Which?’s
online best buys.
The company has been operating for five years but has appointed its
first agency to help drive traffic to the site and to build a more
distinct brand personality. The budget is believed to be between pounds
3 million and pounds 4 million.
M&B, which did not pitch for the account, will also advise on website
A communications strategy has yet to be finalised but it is thought
unlikely to include TV advertising.
Graham Bednash, the managing partner of M&B, said: ’Valuedirect has a
great track record and is unbelievably ambitious. It wants ideas to
transform its business. It will be like starting from scratch; we will
be re-evaluating its whole business.’
The company is listed in the Sunday Times/Virgin Fast Track 100
It is a Which?-approved trader and also has affinity partners such as BT
and the BBC, through which it offers employees its range of goods.
