The nine-minute video, which spoofs the Don McLean hit American Pie with a reworking of the lyrics alongside advertising imagery, has attracted thousands of hits.

In the rewritten song, the line "the day the music died" is replaced with "the year the media died" and the chorus features the line: "Bye bye those big upfront buys."
