The agency is creating a group board as it brings its OMD UK Paddington-based agency closer to Manning Gottlieb OMD. However, it is stopping short of a full merger between the two agencies.
Manning, formerly the chief executive of MG OMD, will head a group board that includes the OMD UK managing director, Steve Williams, OMD's executive strategy director, Mark Palmer, and Alison Wright, the managing director of MG OMD.
Paul Taylor, the former chief executive of OMD UK, has a new non-executive role working on the group's response to industry issues.
The OMD UK Group will keep the two separate client hubs and brands but is rolling out MG OMD's The Source concept across the companies to allow teams of people to work together.
It will create heads of disciplines such as direct, digital and futures to encourage greater working between the two agencies. Phil Nunn will head OMD Direct, Sally Dickerson OMD Metrics, Leigh Terry and Amy Lennox OMD Digital and Harriet Frost OMD Ignition.
Manning said: "It's a strong position for me to go into. We have lots of assets and great people."
