- Anthony Bucci, chairman and chief executive officer of Marc USA, announced today that the company has acquired Keroff & Rosenberg, one of Chicago's top 25 independent advertising agencies. The Chicago shop has been renamed K& R/Marc.
William Keroff, one of the original founding partners of K&R, will be CEO of the new unit. Chas Rosenberg, also a founding partner, will be vice chairman. Bucci said the Chicago agency would operate independently, as do other Marc USA divisions.
K&R/Marc and Marc Advertising/Pittsburgh will work in partnership on the Chicago-based TruServ account. TruServ is a 10,800-store hardware co-operative formed by the merger of True Value and Servistar Coast to Coast corporations.
K&R/Marc clients include the Chicago Tribune, Tribune Digital Products, Host Marriott Services, Cole-Taylor Bank, Continental Communications, American Host Inns, Motorola, iDEN, Vita Foods and Rouse Company.
Marc was founded in Pittsburgh in 1955. In addition to its Pittsburgh office, Marc USA has operating units in Miami, Orlando, Indianapolis, Dallas and Tulsa. With the addition of K&R/Marc, the company will have approximately 270 employees and annual billings of $280 million.
In addition to TruServ, its clients include Holiday Inns Worldwide, PPG Industries, Inc., Bryant Heating and Cooling, Poulan chain saws, Union Tools, Frigidaire Home Products' Weed Eater and Wet and Wild Water Parks.
