Mars to shake up team as top marketer leaves

David Fish, joint president of Masterfoods Europe and one of Mars'

top marketers, is to leave the company, sparking a reorganisation of its

marketing function.

Dick Raper, who currently shares the presidency, will assume Fish's

duties.

Raper takes the newly created title of president and chief executive of

Masterfoods Europe. Gottfried Groebl, who is responsible for

Masterfoods' brands in central Europe and Russia, moves to the new role

of chief operating officer, with responsibility for marketing and sales

across the group.

Groebl, who reports to Raper, will oversee Masterfoods Europe brands

including Pedigree Chum and Whiskas.

Fish is a long-standing Mars marketer who has worked across the business

in various roles. A spokesman for Mars said Fish had "decided to leave",

but declined to comment on his plans.
