Masterfood moves to expand UK roster

Masterfoods is looking to expand its UK advertising roster beyond Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and TBWA\London.

The FMCG giant has approached an undisclosed number of off-roster agencies with a brief to advertise its Tracker snack bar.

Tracker is without an agency in the UK. It was previously handled by Grey London as part of its Masterfoods Confectionary account. Masterfoods dropped the bar from its UK ad schedule after Grey was forced to resign all its Masterfoods business when it was acquired by WPP in 2004.

Masterfoods' Skittles, Starburst, Snickers and Tunes brands were then awarded to TBWA, which also has the company's pet foods and Seeds of Change lines.

In June, Masterfoods handed its dormant Milky Way business to AMV without a pitch. The account was previously held by Grey. AMV already handles Masterfoods' Mars, Snickers and M&Ms.

Masterfoods denied it was talking to other agencies.
