MCBD triumphs at 2006 Press Awards

Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy's long-copy Millets ad won the top prize at the Campaign Press Awards last night.

"Long list", a 339-word tribute to the joys of a typical family camping trip, was named Best Individual Press Advertisement.

The ad, written by Ben Tollett and art directed by Emer Stamp, also won Best Written Ad, Best Retail and Home Shopping Ad and took gold for Best Press Campaign. It saw off Lowe's work for Tesco and Stella Artois and DDB London's Harvey Nichols ads.

It was Bartle Bogle Hegarty, however, which claimed the most silver awards.

Its work for Audi, Levi's and Boddington's won four silvers.

Level on three silvers each were MCBD, all for Millets, Lowe for Tesco and Stella, and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO for COI, the RAC and the RSPCA.

DDB London won two silvers with work for The Guardian and Marmite. Lunar Communications won its first Campaign Press Award with its ad for Marmalade in the Best Illustration category.
