McCann pair scoop this month's Aerial

The McCann Erickson creative team Richard Allsop and Jana Pejovska has won the November Aerial Award for best radio ad, held in association with Campaign.

The pair's "girl gets interview" spot for Clearasil Ultra Face Wash was named best radio ad of the month by the judge, Tiger Savage, who is the deputy creative director and head of art at M&C Saatchi.

Runners-up were Phil Skegg, Simon Griffin and James Quail of Love for their "register" spot for the Museum of Science & Industry and the M&C Saatchi creative team Tom Drew and Uche Ezugwu for their X Factor spot for ITV1.

The winning commercial features a girl who is worrying about her spots ahead of a job interview that is three days away. She repeats remarks made by a male voiceover, in a high-pitched voice, until the spots disappear.

Savage said: "My pick of the month is perhaps not the cleverest ad of the bunch, but it did make me laugh. Great use of voiceovers. Says exactly what it does on the bottle."
