Andy McDuff, the managing director of IPC Music & Sport, has

resigned without a job to go to.

IPC Music & Sport, which includes key magazines such as Loaded, NME and

Melody Maker, recorded a poor set of ABC results for the six months

ending in December 1999. Loaded, which recently lost its editor Tim

Southwell and publisher Adrian Pettett to the internet broadcasting

network Switch2, suffered a circulation decline of just under 19 per

cent year on year.

IPC issued a statement in which McDuff was quoted as saying: ’These are

exciting times in the media world and I feel that now is an appropriate

time to make the break.’

Sly Bailey, IPC’s chief executive, added: ’Andy has launched many

successful brands at IPC including Loaded, Muzik and Uncut.’
