McManus merges direct operations

- The McManus Group is to merge two of its direct marketing operations to create a new agency called DialogueWorks.

DialogueWorks is created out of the merger of Ayer/Deare & Partners, the direct marketing arm of NW Ayer & Partners, with ClarionDirect, the direct unit of Clarion Marketing & Communications.

The new agency will be headed by Trissie Rost and Brian Dougherty, who led ClarionDirect. The combined operation, with offices in Greenwich, Connecticut, and San Francisco, claims $90 million in and includes KitchenAid, Travelers Property & Casualty and SBC Communications among its clients.
