EDF Energy has signed up as the first broadcast sponsor of The Boat Race, which is being shown on ITV1 on 27 March. As well as the Oxford v Cambridge race, the sponsorship includes credits on a film charting the development of the two squads over the past year. The deal was negotiated between Andy Thompson at ITV Sales and Keith Impey at Sports Media Limited.
