TMD Carat’s Channel 5 coup propels the agency to the top of the media- only new-business chart. TMD has also picked up the pounds 7 million Philips media business after it had been awarded to its sister agency, BBJ Media Services. TMD’s experience on the Braun account - which last month moved to BMP DDB - helped clinch the Philips business.

TMD Carat’s Channel 5 coup propels the agency to the top of the media-

only new-business chart. TMD has also picked up the pounds 7 million

Philips media business after it had been awarded to its sister agency,

BBJ Media Services. TMD’s experience on the Braun account - which last

month moved to BMP DDB - helped clinch the Philips business.



Another Carat agency, YMG Carat, must take the award for the most

eventful couple of months. In March, observers were predicting the

demise of the agency in the face of the loss of its SmithKline Beecham

business to MediaCom. This month, YMG was handed a significant fillip in

the guise of the pounds 10 million Le Shuttle account, which more than

made up for the pounds 6 million SmithKline loss.



Because we have extended the media-only new business table, we are now

recording those agencies that have a negative new-business record.

Obviously, the agencies who have lost most business so far this year

remain outside this list.
