Media-only Business Performance League October 1996

TMD Carat’s long-standing hold at the head of the media new-business league was ended this month by Manning Gottlieb Media. It shot up to the top of the table from last month’s number five, thanks to a number of wins, including Britannia and Teletext. These gains mean MGM has netted nearly pounds 40 million-worth of new business this year and has lost just pounds 1 million. Impressive stuff.

TMD had a quieter month but managed to hang in at number two by

snaffling pounds 2 million of Weetabix business from CIA Medianetwork.

The other star performer this month was John Ayling and Associates,

whose clinching of the pounds 10 million UK Kimberly Clark business was

widely tipped, but still sent the agency shooting up the table from

joint 27th last month to number 14.

Optimedia also made progress, moving to number six on the back of

business including the pounds 4 million Warner Brothers Cinemas task.

Elsewhere, Zenith Media slumped out of the top ten.
