Manning Gottlieb’s tenure at the top of the table didn’t last - despite

the fact that it picked up pounds 2 million worth of new business from

Virgin Express this month and hasn’t lost an account since June.

Our new league leader, BMP DDB, has an equally good track record (it

hasn’t lost an account since May) and had a blinder this month, pulling

in Barclaycard Direct (pounds 6 million), Autoglass (pounds 2 million)

and Dremel Power Tools (pounds 2 million) among others. TMD Carat,

having been shunted from the top last month by MGM, is hanging in at

number two with its sizeable pounds 4.7 million Tambrands win.

This month, John Ayling and Associates finally makes it into the top ten

thanks to its pounds 6 million Orbis Publishing win. One new brand name

to appear in the table is Banks Hoggins O’Shea. After setting up a

separate media department last month it has pulled in two high-spending

accounts, the Referendum Party (claimed pounds 13 million) and, more

recently, Kingsbury Interiors (pounds 1.7 million).

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off the inaugural issue of Campaign's monthly print offering than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
