Reed Employment, the recruitment specialist, after Reed’s planned

appointment of New PHD fell apart during contract negotiations.

New PHD was reported to have won the business after a pitch last month,

but sources within the agency said that the deal went sour after Reed

asked for a renegotiation of the price offered in the initial pitch.

Reed had earlier picked Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and WCRS to handle its

creative account.

Media Planning will work on a major rebranding campaign aimed at

capitalising on a buoyant jobs market and combating the balloon-ing

number of recruitment websites.

AMV will handle a rebranding campaign for Reed’s main website,

reed.co.uk, while WCRS has been given the task of promoting the

company’s new temporary jobs service, tempjobs.com, which the company

claims is the first of its kind in Europe.

Mark Mendoza, the managing director of Media Planning, said: ’Reed has

some exciting plans and we’re pleased to have picked up their

business.

We have a good relationship with WCRS and a lot of respect for AMV. We

were happy to work with both agencies.’
