Media Week 30 under 30: Andrew Spurrier-Dawes, Mediacom

What's something every media industry person should do before they’re 30?

Before they are 30, everyone in the industry needs to get an accountability partner. Someone who will challenge you to be your best and hold you accountable for the standards you agree on. They will help you learn to take and give feedback effectively and make sure that you are keeping your eyes on what’s important so that you can prioritise accordingly. This isn’t a mentor to give you advice, this is a person who will ask questions and make sure you keep your promises.

If you could only take one thing to a desert island, what would you choose and why?

If I were lost forever on a desert island I would take an electric fan. I am fairly practical and reckon I could make anything I wanted to if need be, but as a Welshman my natural habitat is spoggy coldness, so I need to get as close to that if I am going to survive the beautiful, dry heat of a desert island.
