What’s something every media industry person should do before they’re 30?

I believe that by the time you turn 30, you should have failed as much as you have succeeded. The people who do best in this industry are the ones who have taken a few knocks and learnt from their mistakes. The Brighton Media Business Course is another rite of passage I would highly recommend – It’s a "Ménage à trois" of The Apprentice, Big Brother and TEDTalks.

If you could only take one thing to a desert island, what would you choose and why?

As much as I would like to bring a guitar or something creative, I can’t play one and I’m certain I will never be able to learn. So rather than struggling with one luxury item, I’ll just bring Ray Mears so we can thrive on the Island. It was a difficult choice between Ray and Bear Grylls, but I feel like Ray is less likely to go straight for the hydration via enema.
