Among the 16 UK media agencies assessed during 2010, MediaCom, led by its chief executive, Karen Blackett, and PHD obtained the best grade of A+. Carat, MEC, Mindshare, Vizeum and ZenithOptimedia all scored an A. The grades assigned to the nine other agencies remain confidential.
Recma's study assesses agencies' level of competitiveness in winning and retaining existing business in "key pitches" where the UK billings involved topped £5 million.
In addition to the annual study, Recma has combined its Compitches scores over the past three years to identify the most successful UK agencies at new business in this period.
The four agencies that received the highest scores were MEC (14 points), PHD (13 points), MediaCom (12 points) and Carat (11 points).
