MediaCom's Lisa Humphreys flies flag for media in '35 women under 35' list

Six of the brightest up-and-coming stars from the world of media and marketing have made Management Today's list of 35 high-flying women under 35.

The annual list of the UK’s most successful young businesswomen features smart, ambitious women from across a range of professional services, from finance and food, to science and solar power.

From the media buying sector is Lisa Humphreys, a board director at MediaCom, who at 34 is the youngest and only female member of its five-person trading division. Humphreys manages Mediacom’s £75 million out of home business and is jointly responsible for £970 million of brand media investment. 

Flying the flag for female marketing directors is 35-year-old Becky Brock, from Snow+Rock Group, who won the Marketing Society’s Young Marketer of the Year award in 2011 during her time at Homebase. 

Jemma Jones, 30, the department manager for marketing communications at Honda, also makes the list after her stewardship of the car brand’s multi-platform marketing spend.

After helping nearly double its turnover last year, 34-year-old country manager Annabel Kilner also made the 35. Kilner, who was previously a marketing manager at innovation consultancy FreshMinds, was mentored by Brent Hoberman, the founder of, as she transitioned to e-commerce.

Marks & Spencer’s global director of insights and loyalty, 33-year-old Suzanna Broer, makes the list having already carved out an impressive CV after starting her career at McKinsey before moving to Danone as a global strategy director.

Also featured is Georgie Bell, the 27-year-old luxury malts ambassador for Mortlach at Diageo, who represents a rare female in the upmarket drinks sector.

The list, compiled by Management Today in association with Accenture, called for nominations to name the country’s brightest young businesswomen under 35. 

Past winners include Elizabeth Murdoch and Stella McCartney.

Now in its 15th year, the 35 finalists will feature in the July/August edition of Management Today
