Mediapolis is to change its name to Media Planning from 1 May this

year.

The renaming comes in response to the merger of Mediapolis’ parent group

Havas Advertising with Spanish media group Media Planning a year

ago.

The rebranding will create the second largest independent media network

in the world, with billings of over dollars 6 billion. Media Planning

has offices in 50 countries.

Bob Offen, CEO of Media apolis in the UK, will continue to report to

Media Planning’s Barcelona-based chief executive Fernando Rodes.

Offen commented on the name change: ’Media Planning Group is committed

to reinforcing its position as a key global player. The network is

expanding fast and over the last 12 months we have been devoting a huge

amount of time and effort to creating a solid network infrastructure. It

now clearly makes sense to have consistent branding across all

markets.’

Mediapolis’ UK account portfolio includes the centralised pounds 22

million Thomson Travel Group business.
