Men’s Health takes top magazine prize at 1999 PPA awards

In the six months to December 1998, the magazine’s circulation leapt 29

per cent to 283,359.



Lindsay Nicholson, the editor-in-chief of Prima, was named editor of the

year.



Nicholson, who has edited Prima for four years, has made it the

biggest-selling women’s monthly title, while maintaining the magazine’s

appeal to a loyal reader base. Last week, she was named editor-in-chief

of the National Magazine Company’s Good Housekeeping.



Hello! scooped international magazine of the year, while Future

Publishing’s PlayStation Magazine is specialist magazine of the

year.



John Brown Publishing landed the customer magazine of the year prize for

Room, its contract publishing title for Ikea. The Builder Group’s

Building magazine won business and professional magazine of the year,

while Marcus Arthur, publisher of BBC Magazines’ Good Homes and Homes &

Antiques, was named the consumer magazine publisher of the year.
