MG OMD and Goodstuff retain £75m Virgin Media

Virgin Media has retained Manning Gottlieb OMD and Goodstuff Communications as the incumbents on its £75m media planning and buying account, with the pair setting up a bespoke agency called Fifty6.

The decision follows a review process that kicked off in December. Despite Virgin Media putting the agency on alert and the involvement of the media auditor Billetts the process did not progress to a full-scale open pitch.

Fifty6 will unify and deliver a multi-channel integrated approach to data, insight, strategy, planning and buying while focusing on innovation and value.

Robert Ffitch, managing director at Manning Gottlieb OMD and Andrew Stephens, founding partner of Goodstuff, will jointly head up Fifty6, with Stephens as day-to-day lead on the account.

The move follows the appointment of DDB UK and sister agency Rapp to handle Virgin Media’s consolidated advertising and direct business last May.

Since then, DDB has created the 'Our House' TV campaign, featuring lyrics from the Madness track "Our House" with reworked music.
