Manning Gottlieb Media is scrambling to recruit buyers in a bid to

handle a new-business boom that has already yielded 30 clients this

year.

Harassed executives at the agency would not confirm any recent wins but

said the rate of new-business sign-ups was ’probably around two or three

a week’.

Big names to come on board this year include Nissan, Alliance &

Leicester and Bush, which handed MGM a pounds 10 million internet TV

task.

The company has grown by more than a third in just over three

months.

Since January, MGM has taken on 26 staff and it is looking to fill more

than a dozen positions.

’We have just expanded our office but we are still not sure if we can

fit everyone in,’ said creative media director Patrick Morrison. He

added that much of MGM’s new business was from the technology,

entertainment and finance sectors: ’A lot of it is from businesses that

are questioning how they will go forward in this changing media

landscape.’

However, he denied recruitment was being biased towards those with

new-media experience. ’It is more important that people know about the

mix - but an appreciation of the internet side is a plus.’
