MindShare appoints Discovery's Teeman to Unilever account

Phil Teeman, the vice-president of sales for Discovery Networks Europe, is returning to his roots at MindShare, taking a job running the worldwide Unilever account.

Teeman replaces Phil Cowdell, who has moved across to manage MindShare's European Ford account. Cowdell replaces Nick Kelvin, who has left the agency to pursue other interests. MindShare is the agency of record on the majority of Unilever's global business.

Teeman is a former board director at The Network, the predecessor to MindShare, but left shortly before the Ogilvy & Mather media dependent merged with J. Walter Thompson's in-house media department to form MindShare five years ago.

He had worked at The Network, and before that Ogilvy & Mather Media, for nine years but quit to join Discovery Networks Europe after failing to get a place among MindShare's senior line-up.

At Discovery Networks Europe, Teeman managed the channel's European sales and marketing efforts.
