Mindshare confirms Rees as managing director

- MindShare, the new joint Ogilvy & Mather/J Walter Thompson media operation, has confirmed that Simon Rees will be its managing director (as tipped in Campaign magazine).

Rees has been put on gardening leave by his current employer, TMD Carat, where he is deputy managing director.

MindShare is already operating as a company, but has yet to move into its new offices on London's Strand. The agency is expected to officially open its doors for business at the end of May.

TMD has named promoted Dave King to replace Rees although he does not get the deputy MD title, instead he is named broadcast director. King, who has been at TMD since 1988, moves up from broadcast development director. He will be supported by Mark Jarvis who is promoted to director of broadcast negotiations, from the position of director of TV buying.

Mark Craze managing director of TMD Carat, said: "Having reviewed our options it was clear that we need look no further than our own team for Simon's replacement."
