MindShare hires Theakstone for director of investment position

MindShare has ended its six-month search for a director of

investment with the appointment of MediaVest UK's deputy managing

director, Nick Theakstone.

The investment director role was created when MindShare restructured

earlier this year following the managing director Simon Rees' promotion

to replace Mandy Pooler as chief executive.

Five director roles, including the new investment director post, were

formed to replace the managing director role.

Three of MindShare's 17 managing partners took the top slots - Simon

Francis as director of futures, Rosie Faulkner as communications

director and Jed Glanvill as director of mdigital.

Colin Barlow, the finance director, is the fifth director in the top

layer of management.

As investment director, Theakstone will oversee the buying and

negotiation functions and also look for new areas of opportunity for the

agency.

Rees said: "Nick's task is to define the trading policy of the future

and to lead the way in which multimedia deals, with ever more

consolidated media owners, are structured."

Theakstone said: "MindShare is one of those companies as a competitor

you don't want to be up against. Joining it is extremely exciting and

offers a rare opportunity to be part of such a potent team."

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off the inaugural issue of Campaign's monthly print offering than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
