Mother promotes O'Bric to replace Mildenhall

Mother has promoted Garbhan O'Bric to the new role of head of business development, as the agency moves to fill the gap left by the departure of Jonathan Mildenhall last December.

In his new position, O'Bric will focus on developing the agency's business partnerships with both existing and new clients, as well as other creative companies and media owners. As part of the changes being made to the new-business department at the agency, Caroline Almgren has been promoted to the role of business development manager.

Stef Calcraft, the Mother partner, said: "The opportunities to create new business partnerships with both our existing and new clients have never been greater. Similar opportunities exist in abundance with media and other creative companies. Garbhan has proved himself wonderfully on both Boots and Amex Red in combining the necessary strategic and entrepreneurial instincts to make the role his own."

O'Bric added: "Mother is brilliantly poised to make the most of the exciting opportunities in our changing market, and to be responsible for developing the business at this time is a fantastic brief."

O'Bric joined Mother from Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R to run the Boots brief. Before joining RKCR/Y&R, O'Bric worked at HHCL/Red Cell and Leo Burnett. He began his career in the strategy and marketing department at MTV in London, before moving to Milan to launch the music TV channel in Italy.

Mildenhall left Mother in December last year to join Coca-Cola as its vice-president of global marketing. He had joined the agency to replace the former strategy director, Clare Dobbie, who left after four months in the role to join The Gap as its European marketing director.
