In his new role, Young will head a team of nine and be responsible for driving revenue across the two brands from key London advertising agencies. Young's promotion comes after a year spent working in agency sales for Classic FM and Planet Rock. He began his career at Emap in 1997, working on Golf World and Car. He moved to Men's Health in 2000, where he sold display and brand-led creative solutions before taking a year off to go travelling.
Simon Daglish, GCap's national media sales director, said: "I am delighted that Nick will be taking over the reins on Classic FM's agency sales.
Over the past year, Nick has proved himself to be a very proactive and innovative member of the team. He has worked well with his agencies and I am confident he will develop the same enthusiasm and strategic vision as a manager."
