Movers: Appointment at IPC Media

IPC Media has named Jackie Hatton as the new editor of its women's weekly Woman.

She replaces Sarah Edwards, who left the company last month after just five months in the job. Hatton moves over from the sister title Woman's Weekly, where she was the deputy editor. Her career spans 20 years in women's magazines, beginning at IPC in a variety of roles on Woman & Home.

After a spell freelancing, Hatton rejoined IPC in 2000 as the deputy features editor on Woman's Own. She rose through the magazine to features editor before being appointed deputy editor in May last year.

Oswin Grady, the publishing director of IPC Connect, said: "Woman and Woman's Own are massive brands read by millions of women. Jackie's talent and wealth of experience in understanding the dynamics of this demanding weekly sector will stand Woman in fantastic stead for the next phase of the magazine's evolution."
