Movers: Appointment at Microsoft UK

Microsoft UK has promoted Matthew Bishop to business and marketing officer. Bishop, previously the director of the Microsoft UK Development and Platform Group, takes over from Nick Barley, who has been promoted to UK chief marketing officer. Bishop joined Microsoft UK in 1998 as a strategy consultant. His other roles within the company include the senior director of government and the director of government sales and solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was previously a civil servant in the Cabinet Office, advising ministers on goals for electronic service delivery.
