Alan Cook, the chief executive of National Savings & Investments, is moving to the Post Office to take the newly created role of managing director.
In his new role, he will be charged with developing the products and services the Post Office network provides to its 28 million customers in the UK.
He will begin his new job on 1 March and report to the Royal Mail group chief executive, Adam Crozier. Cook joined NS&I in 2002 from Prudential, where he was the chief operating officer.
