Ronan Harris has been appointed managing director for Google across the UK and Ireland. Harris has been at Google for more than 11 years, joining as senior director for large customer sales for EMEA.

He replaces Eileen Naughton who moved to California to become vice-president of people operations in July.

Robert Bakish will take the role of acting president and chief executive at Viacom, the owner of Channel 5 and MTV. He succeeds Tom Dooley, who was appointed as interim CEO in August after Philippe Dauman was ousted following a power struggle between Dauman and Sumner Restone, the controlling shareholder at Viacom.

BETC London has hired Andrew Kay as its managing director. Kay joins from Wieden & Kennedy London, where he worked as head of account management since 2014. 

Mediavest, one of Publicis Groupe's four media-buying agencies, has named Rachel Forde as its new UK chief executive. Her promotion is the first senior appointment made by Amanda Morrissey, who became UK chief executive of Publicis Media, the parent company for the group’s media agencies, in April.

Adam & Eve/DDB has poached the AMV duo behind Currys PC World's Christmas ads. Antony Nelson and Mike Sutherland created the award-winning "Spare the act" campaign. It is understood they will take the roles of deputy executive creative directors.

Zoe Howorth, the former Coca-Cola Great Britain marketing director, has joined the Hofmeister Brewing Company as marketing director. She joins Andrew Marsden, her former counterpart at Britvic, who was appointed chairman in July.

Joanna Wilby has joined creative and retail strategy agency Vitamin as creative director. She has previously managed integrated campaigns and brand development for clients including Wilko, Tottenham Hotspur, Tesco, Fox, Paramount, Disney and Johnson & Johnson. Wilby is also a mentor with She Says, which runs free mentorship and events for women in the creative industry.

Marketo has hired Steve Lucas as its new chief executive officer. Lucas joins from his role as president, Enterprise Platform and Analytics, at SAP. Marketo founder and current CEO Phil Fernandez will step down on 1 November.

Neil Bennett, former strategy director for AnalogFolk, has joined Love in the same capacity. Bennett formerly worked on Pernod Ricard's Absolut and Malibu brands at AnalogFolk. Prior to that he worked at Mother. He is tasked with with developing ideas across Love's key clients.
