Deep Focus chief executive Richard Costa-D'sa and chief strategy officer Iain Matthews are stepping down as it moves closer to sister Engine shop WCRS. Matt Edwards, chief executive of WCRS, will now preside over both businesses. Matt Willifer, WCRS’s chief strategy officer, will also oversee strategy at Deep Focus.

Digital agency Huge has appointed Alex Pym as business development director. Joining the London office this month, Pym is tasked with consolidating and accelerating the agency’s growth in the UK and across the rest of Europe. He joins Huge from SapientNitro,where in the same role, he steered the agency towards a record level of new business wins.

Octagon, the global sports and entertainment marketing leader, has made two leadership promotions. John Shea has been promoted to president, marketing and events and Jeff Ehrenkranz has been promoted to president, marketing International. They will  both report to  Octagon Worldwide chairman and CEO Rick Dudley.

Lucky Generals has promoted Joe Bagnall to the newly created role of head of film, after bringing him in as a senior producer in January. Bagnall is responsible for the company’s visual production and reports to creative founder Danny Brooke-Taylor. He was hired off the back of three recent wins, Betfair, Premier Inn and Yorkshire Tea and upcoming campaigns for Paddy Power, Amazon and Twitter.

One of M&C Saatchi's most senior creatives, Sam Ball, is leaving the shop. Ball is one of the four founders of Lean Mean Fighting Machine, which was acquired by M&C Saatchi in 2014.

Four MediaCom Manchester senior executives have left the agency. They are joint managing director Pete Cooper, managing partner John Marshall, head of broadcast Colin Reynolds and associate director Claire Garner. Cooper is understood to be joining Dentsu Aegis Network North next year. As a result, Paul Cooper, previously the joint managing director, has become the sole MD of the agency.

Helen Weisinger, managing partner and CMO of HeyHuman, is leaving the agency to join media owner Outdoor Plus as its chief client officer in September. Weisinger will report to Jonathan Lewis, managing director, and sit on the company’s executive board along with sales director Grant Branfoot and the four other members of the management team.
