The Northern Ireland-based Ardmore advertising group has made a series of new appointments. They include Stephen Roycroft, who will be joining the company as account director. Previously an account manager at McCann-Erickson Belfast, his client experience includes Army Recruitment NI, ShopElectric, Lifestyle, Castle Court, Richardsons Fertilisers, Zeneca and UTV. Mark Hunter has been appointed the general manager of Ardmore Direct, based at the company’s Dundonald production facility. He has previously carried out contractual work for Ardmore, including the

NIE privatisation share application. Hunter joins from Greer

Publications. Lynda Dixon has joined the Ardmore Group as business

development manager. She was previously with the Belfast Telegraph.



Sharon Charlton has been appointed director of the Cardiff office of HHC

Advertising, whose clients include the leading home builder, Barratt

South West, and Cadw: Welsh Historic Monuments. Charlton re-joins the

agency after leaving 18 months ago to take up a position as marketing

communications manager of Lloyds Bank.



The Marketing Organisation has appointed Steven Rockall senior account

director. Rockall has 17 years’ experience in marketing communications;

five years of which were spent working for brand leaders such as Coca-

Cola, Carlsberg-Tetley, LRC Products and Asda. He started his career as

a designer before moving to, among others, Tim Arnold and Associates,

Clarke Hooper and Hoknes and Marchant. The Marketing Organisation has

also appointed Aleck Hornshaw and Simon Penn account directors. Hornshaw

has eight years of experience in above-the-line media agencies and has

previously worked on Allied Domecq, Carlsberg-Tetley and Mars/Pedigree

accounts. Penn joins from Plane Savings, a subsidiary of Reed and Mackay

Travel, where he was the managing director, handling group and

conference travel. He brings extensive experience from 12 years in

travel operations.



Harlequin Integrated Marketing Communications has appointed Anne-Sophie

Peyrot an account executive. She joins from the Creative Centre, where

she worked on a number of UK accounts. Before that, she was based at

Conquest Europe, the French advertising agency, where she was account

co-ordinator for Alfa Romeo and International Bordeaux Wines.



The ITC has appointed Ian Blair, currently marketing manager at AEG

domestic appliances, head of advertising standards. Blair, 44, is a

modern languages graduate, who worked for Kodak before moving to AEG in

1986.



Sally Scott has been appointed promotions director for the National

Magazine Company with special responsibility for Harpers and Queen. She

joins from Emap Elan where she currently acts as promotions manager for

Elle, Elle Decoration and New Woman. Scott joined Emap Elan in January

1995 as promotions manager of Elle and was later given responsibility

for Elle Decoration and New Woman. Before this she worked on a temporary

assignment in the promotions department of Harpers and Queen. From 1993

to 1994 she was assistant promotions/marketing manager for W Fashion

Europe, where she created and generated single and multi-client

advertorials. Scott studied art history and Italian at the University of

Toronto.



Virgin Records has appointed Jules Bain TV and film co-ordinator. She

has previously worked for J. Walter Thompson and will be responsible for

assisting film-makers and commercials directors in placing the work of

Virgin artists on screen projects.



Dubbs, the Soho duplication company, has promoted Mandy Wells to

customer services manager. Wells, who has been with the company for two

years, now heads a team of eight customer service representatives.



Danusia Brzezicka has been appointed retail strategy manager with

ScotRail. Brzezicka, 29, brings ten years of retail experience, having

previously been with the Burton Group, the House of Fraser and the ‘What

Every...’ chain.



Michael Jacobs has been appointed marketing manager at the Haywards

Heath-based Sanofi Beaute. The 32-year-old former marketing director of

Carpets International will be responsible for Parfums Yves Saint

Laurent, Beaute and Skincare.



Pearson New Entertainment has appointed Mike Andrews general manager of

its UK Video operation, Pearson New Video. Andrews joins PNE after

nearly ten years at EMI - his last position was marketing director of

Chrysalis Records UK. He has also worked as a journalist, TV presenter,

actor and musician.
