Financial Times Business has announced two promotions within its ad sales department. Clare Reed, formerly ad manager on The International, is now group ad manager for The International and Resident Abroad. Carol Malik moves from her post as ad manager of Resident Abroad to become the group ad manager of Offshore Financial Review.

Following the recent promotion of Sally Smith to group classified ad

manager of Associated Newspapers, the Evening Standard classified

department has announced two senior promotions. Melanie Klass, who

joined the company in 1990 as a field sales executive, has been promoted

to head of classified. Glynis Porteous, who joined the Evening Standard

in 1996, becomes classified sales manager.





Emap Construct has appointed Russell Brooks to the specially created

role of business development director for its publishing, online,

information provision and exhibition operations. Brooks rejoins Emap

after six years at the Builder Group, where he was sales director across

several titles. At Emap, Brooks will develop and maximise new revenue

streams and cross-sell the company’s construction industry titles and

websites.





The Express has made two internal promotions in its classified

department. Nickola Sills, previously group head on the recruitment

team, becomes training manager. Sills joined Express Newspapers in 1990

as a classified field sales executive. Fiona Corallini, previously group

head of the business-to-business team, takes on a new role as systems

manager. Corallini joined the company in 1987 as a classified telesales

executive.





Emap Digital has appointed Luke Alvarez chief operating officer, with

effect from 1 May. Alvarez was formerly chief development officer of

Boo.com, the online fashion retailer, where he was responsible for

strategic alliances and business development. Emap Digital has also

recruited Danny Cannon, who comes in as head of interactive recruitment.

He will focus on developing Emap Digital’s recruitment offerings online

and creating recruitment revenue streams. Cannon joins from TMP

Worldwide, where he was UK group media director.





EGPropertyLink.com, the online property service half-owned by Reed

Business Information, publisher of Estates Gazette, has appointed

Jonathan Hamer new-media sales manager and Geoff Thomas telesales

manager. EGPropertyLink is looking to recruit five sales staff and seven

client support executives.





Zenith subsidiary Zed Media has hired Mark Ashley as an account

director. Ashley moves to Zed from Coltman Media Company, where he was a

senior media planner manager.





Future Publishing’s computer and video games division is reshuffling its

publishers. Tim Tucker, publisher of titles including PlayStation Max

and Official UK PlayStation Tips, has been appointed network publisher.

PlayStation Max and Official UK PlayStation Tips will be handed over to

Mia Roberts, publisher of Official UK PlayStation Magazine. Richard Bean

has been appointed assistant publisher to work with Roberts across the

titles.
