Jhan Rushton, sales development manager at She magazine, has jumped the fence to take up a position at an advertising agency. He joins fashion account specialist Good Results as an account manager. In his new role he will plan and buy all media, handle accounts and develop new business.

Reed Business Information has named Dean Slade group advertisement

manager for the Electronics Group titles. He joins from the Reed

Electrical titles where he was also group ad manager. In his new role,

Slade will be responsible for Electronics Weekly, Electronic Products

Extra, Distribution World and Electronics Weekly Hyperactive. Slade’s

replacement is Richard Dye.



Formally sales development manager for the group, Dye will now oversee

sales across a five-strong raft of magazines.





Online saleshouse DoubleClick UK has recruited Bijan Beroud as sales

director for AltaVista Europe, one of its largest clients. Beroud joins

DoubleClick from computer manufacturer Compaq. DoubleClick holds the ad

sales accounts for the local, domestic and international core search and

directory sections of AltaVista.





Weider Publications, which publishes Men’s Fitness, Shape and Jump in

the UK through Mollin Publishing Group, has appointed Linda Saint Marc

senior vice-president of international publishing. Weider has titles in

31 markets worldwide, including the UK, Japan, Germany, France and

Australia.





The Evening Standard’s classified department has promoted Tony

McAllister to the position of field sales executive with responsibility

for travel.



He moves from his previous role of telephone sales executive, and will

report directly to travel group head Matthew Warne.





Forbes Global, the international business magazine, has hired Prashan

Dutt as director of marketing and research. Dutt was a media director

for 13 years at agencies such as J. Walter Thompson, McCann-Erickson,

Ogilvy & Mather and Bozell. He entered the publishing industry in 1994

as marketing director of the Manager Group and then as corporate

marketing director of the Times Publishing Group in Asia. Dutt will work

in London and Hong Kong.





Peter James, currently sales executive at Axon Publishing, is to take up

a new role as press buyer at Carat UK. James has spent 18 months at

Axon, where he works on a range of customer magazines including

Guinness, BAA and Cable & Wireless. In his new position he will report

to Carat’s director of press, Tim Kirkman. James’s contract begins on 6

March.





Leeds-based full-service agency Brilliant has recruited two account

managers.



Nick Licence joins the agency from Brahm, and will work on a variety of

accounts with account director Annette Armitage. Sara Humphries joins

from Advertising Principles and will work primarily on the DFS account.
