Belfast Telegraph Newspapers’ ad sales controller Simon Mann has been promoted to group advertising sales director. Mann, ad sales controller since January 1999, replaces John Leslie, who was recently promoted to group commercial director.

Sally Pearson, formerly ad sales manager with Amra in Manchester, has

joined Leeds-based advertising and design agency Indigo 6 as client

services and production manager.





Cathi Hart, classified group head at IPC, has been promoted to

classified sales manager for IPC Connect and tx titles. Hart joined IPC

in 1997 as a sales executive, rising to senior sales executive. In March

1999 she was promoted to group head of the IPC Music and Sport

portfolio.





Dennis Publishing has promoted John Garewal, ad manager on PC Pro, to

group ad manager. In his new role, Garewal will continue to manage the

day-to-day running of PC Pro but will also oversee ads in MacUser, PC

Zone and The Official Dreamcast Magazine. Garewal has worked at Dennis

since 1994. Catherine Lewis joins Garewal as an account manager on PC

Pro. Lewis previously worked at Dennis as account manager on Computer

Buyer, before a stint as a planner/buyer at Media Junction.





Red Herring Communications, the US media company, has appointed Peter

Schoff director, international sales, for its business and technology

magazine Red Herring. Schoff joins the company from Forbes, where he was

vice-president, international advertising. His recruitment is part of

Red Herring’s move to expand outside the US.





Mark Macalesher has joined the sales team of Business Day - the business

section of the Evening Standard - as a sales executive. He will be

responsible for the financial and IT recruitment markets. Macalesher

will now report to Quentin Soldan, Business Day group head.





Recruitment company Media Contacts has promoted its manager, Kathryn

Nall, to associate director. Nall joined the company in March 1995 as a

trainee recruitment consultant.





24/7 Europe has appointed Emma Trollope sales coordinator, Peter Miles

ad operations coordinator and Matthew O’Leary client services

coordinator for its UK office.





Mediapolis account director James Smith has joined the media agency’s

board as associate director. Smith, who moved to Mediapolis from WCRS in

1998, handles the Orange and Lunn Poly accounts.





Recruitment consultant Morgan Rutherford Associates has hired Ruth

Woolley as commercial sales director. She joins from The Scotsman

Publications, where she was general classified manager. Woollard set up

the national classified sales team for TSP, launched the Sunday Business

classified section and managed classified teams at The European and the

Financial Times.
